My whole family will be staying at Postill Lake in August and we'd like to go Gold Panning for fun and furtune -(or so the teenagers would like to think). So, any suggestions would be appreciated. Postill Lake is just north and east of Kelona at a high elevation.
1) This could prove useful.

"A place you and your horse can have a vacation.150acres with creek, miles of trails adjacent on crown land.20 min from Kelowna.Rv's must be self contained. no amenities.Must have portable fencing. Also Mtn. biking, gold panning,hiking.15.00 per spot, 100.00 per week, 300.00 per month reserve only."
This is not quite what you are looking for BUT there is gold panning and if you go to the site there is a contact listed. You could contact the organization and ask for information. Probably get it within a couple of days.
2) From Kelowna to Vernon is about an hours drive.
Gold Panner Campground and Cafe Cherryville BC
Telephone: 250-547-2025
Location: 423 Hwy 6, 58 kms east of Vernon. Gold panning, hiking trails, treed sites log cabins. Gift shop laundry and cafe.
When you google gold panning and Kelowna, lots comes up. It seems to be offered at resorts as an activity to participate in. I would think by getting in touch with some of these places you could easily find an 'open to the public daily ' type place. Must be lots of panning around as " the world championship gold panning " is held in Kelowna.
Hope you find a spot to pan for gold. Sounds like fun and who knows, you just might find a nugget or two.
