Is it standard practice among jewelers to return scrap gold when a ring size is reduced? I've had plenty of rings enlarged before and know that they charge extra to add gold, but does it work in reverse when you reduce your ring size? I've never had to reduce a ring before. I'm having to reduce my current ring size because I just lost 15 pounds and my fingers are thinner.
