Why is there a gold coin instead of silver with the latest Star Wars action figure I bought?
I was at Target today and noticed that they had the McQuarrie concept Chewbacca figure which I had never seen in a store before. While I already have the figure (birthday present) I noticed that this one had a gold coin with it unlike the silver one that came with the figure I already have. The card is also tinted gold in some places.
Hasbro wants to make more money by selling more toys. Star Wars collectors want to have every possible toy; gold and silver versions are two different toys; Hasbro sells more.
You'll also notice the gold one says "Ultimate Galactic Hunt". The gold ones are more limited in number than the silver ones. Search ebay for "UGH Chewbacca" and kick youself for not buying it
